The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced the airlift of the first batch of its troops designated to join the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) peacekeeping mission in Guinea Bissau (ESCB). 

This critical deployment underscores Nigeria's continued leadership and unwavering commitment to driving regional security, stability, and peace across the West African subregion.

The military command confirmed this development through an official statement published on its verified social media handle on Saturday, outlining that the personnel were successfully transported to assume their operational duties under the regional mandate. 

This strategic deployment highlights Nigeria's dedication to supporting partner nations facing security transitions and reinforcing democratic frameworks within the continent.

The newly deployed troops are expected to work in close collaboration with contingent forces from other participating member nations to maintain public order, secure vital infrastructure, and protect the lives and property of the citizens in Guinea Bissau. This mission further reinforces Nigeria's prominent standing as a pillar of peace and international cooperation in Africa.
